About Shmoo

Shmoo is the thick milkshake system used in cafés, ice cream parlours and leisure sites across the UK: a scoop of powder, cold milk, thirty seconds in the mixer. We stock the whole range – powders, vending powders, starter kits with the red Shmoo mixer, cups, toppings and scoops – and we have supplied it for years, so we can tell you what a site your size gets through.

Why Shmoo works for a café

A Shmoo shake is one of the highest-margin drinks on a menu: the ingredient cost per serve is small, the sell price is not, and it takes less time than a latte. It also pulls in the customer who does not drink coffee, which matters at 3pm on a Saturday when the espresso queue has died down.

What you need to start

A starter kit. The Shmoo starter kit with the red mixer has the mixer, the first powders and the cups in one box, and there is a version with a pavement stand for sites that want the sign outside. Any blender will make a milkshake; the Shmoo mixer gives the texture people expect.

Powder. Vanilla, strawberry, chocolate and banana are most of what gets sold. Start there and add the specials once you know your customers. Cafés use the 1.8kg tubs; vending sites use the vending powders.

Cups, lids and toppings. The branded cups are part of the appeal – kids ask for them by name – and a toppings package (marshmallows, rainbow strands) lifts the sell price.

What is in the range

Everything on this page is Shmoo: tubs and vending powders in all flavours, the ultimate 10-tub package for higher-volume sites, starter kits, disposables, toppings and scoops. For the powders on their own see milkshake powder, and for the vending machine that runs on Shmoo see the Summit Shakes milkshake vending machine.
