Filter & Bulk Brewers

Filter coffee is having a genuine revival, and it splits into two very different jobs: brewing a lot of coffee reliably, and brewing one cup carefully.

For volume, a bulk brewer produces litres at a time into an insulated urn — the right tool for breakfast service, conferences and offices where people help themselves. For craft, pour-over kit like the Hario V60 01 and V60 02 drippers, in plastic or ceramic, gives you control over a single cup, and a Timemore French Press covers immersion brewing with no paper at all.

Pour-over is slower per cup and needs someone to do it, so it is a menu item rather than a solution to volume. Most sites end up with both.

You will need filter papers sized to the brewer, and filter-ground coffee.
