Cleaning products are not optional on a commercial machine. Coffee oils go rancid, milk residue harbours bacteria, and both will void a manufacturer warranty if you cannot show the machine has been maintained.

For espresso groups, Puly Caff Group Head Cleaner and Urnex Cafiza E16 are the two most widely specified backflush powders — used with a blanking disc at the end of each service. Bean-to-cup and pod machines take tablets sized to their own brew unit, so check your model before ordering.

A realistic routine is backflush daily, descale on a schedule set by your water hardness, and deep-clean the milk system every day it is used. If that is not happening reliably, our service plans include it — it is cheaper than the callout when a group seizes.
