Descaling

Limescale is what kills commercial coffee machines in the UK, and most of the country has hard or very hard water. Descaling is not maintenance you can defer — it is the difference between a boiler lasting years and lasting months.

Frequency depends on water hardness and volume, not the calendar — a busy machine in Kent may need it monthly where a quiet one in Manchester manages quarterly. If you are guessing, you are probably leaving it too long.
