Essex has some of the most punishing water in the country for coffee equipment, and it shapes every job we do there. Our engineers are CoffeeSafe accredited, employed rather than subcontracted, and carry out PSSR boiler inspections alongside servicing and repair.

Water in Essex is very hard — and it decides what goes wrong
Essex is supplied by Essex & Suffolk Water and Affinity Water. Hardness across the area runs often above 300 ppm, among the very hardest in the UK. That one number drives almost everything about how a commercial machine ages here, which is why we test it on site rather than assume it.
If you are descaling the kettle at home every few weeks, your coffee machine is dealing with the same water at 90 degrees and under pressure. Essex is about as demanding as UK water gets.
Filter cartridges are rated by litres, not by months. On an Essex site pulling decent volume, a cartridge sized for a quiet office can be exhausted in a quarter of the time the label suggests, so we size them against your actual throughput.
On very hard water in Essex the bulk of a service visit goes on descaling, the boiler and element, and the fill probe and solenoids that scale takes out first. We specify Brita Purity filtration against your actual throughput rather than fitting the same cartridge everywhere.
The faults we actually see in Essex
In Essex we replace more heating elements and fill probes than anywhere else we cover, and both are scale failures. We also see a lot of machines where a filter was fitted once at installation and never changed, which is functionally the same as having no filter at all.
The Essex trade we work with
Essex mixes London-commuter office sites with a strong independent scene along the coast and in Colchester and Chelmsford, plus a lot of farm shops and garden centres running bean-to-cup hard on weekend peaks.
Where we cover in Essex
Chelmsford, Colchester, Basildon, Southend-on-Sea, Brentwood, Romford, Ilford, Harlow, Braintree, Clacton-on-Sea, Grays, Thurrock, Epping and Saffron Walden, and the surrounding area.
Common questions about servicing in Essex
How often should a machine be serviced in Essex?
Annually as a minimum, and every six months on anything pulling serious volume. Water moves that: very hard water in Essex means scale management drives the interval.
Do I need a water filter in Essex?
Yes. At often above 300 ppm an unfiltered machine in Essex will scale measurably within months, and scale damage is not covered by any manufacturer warranty.
Do you only service machines you supplied?
No — we work on most commercial makes across Essex regardless of where they came from.
