Bezzera Moda Professional Dual Fuel Espresso Machine
The Moda Professional Dual Fuel is a full commercial espresso machine that runs on LPG gas as well as mains electricity. It is the same machine as the standard Moda Professional — AISI 304 stainless body, heat exchanger boiler, thermostatically controlled groups — with a gas burner alongside the electric element.
That matters in one specific situation: when the electrical supply will not carry a commercial espresso machine. A gas bottle will.
How the dual fuel system works
The boiler can be brought up to pressure by the electric element, by the LPG gas burner, or by whichever is available on the day. Plug in at a venue with a decent supply and it behaves like any other plumbed commercial machine. Park up at a festival with no mains and it runs on gas.
You are not compromising on the coffee to get that flexibility. It is a heat exchanger machine, so it brews and steams simultaneously, and each group has its own 100 W thermostatic resistance — which is what keeps the fifth consecutive shot the same as the first through a rush.
Who a gas coffee machine is for
- Horseboxes and converted trailers — no generator needed
- Festivals and events — where power is shared, rationed or nonexistent
- Outside catering and event bars — proper espresso away from a fixed site
- Venues with a limited supply — older buildings where the board will not take a 3 group machine
Who it is not for
If your site has a reliable electrical supply, buy the standard Moda Professional instead. The dual fuel version costs over £1,000 more and brings gas safety obligations with it, for no benefit you would ever use. We would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong machine — call us on 0800 442299 if you are unsure which way to go.
Before you buy: gas installation
This is a gas appliance, so there are real obligations attached:
- The gas side must be commissioned by an engineer holding the correct Gas Safe registration for commercial catering LPG appliances — that is a different competency from domestic gas
- You will need a regulator and hose suited to your cylinder. Ask us before ordering and we will confirm the specification for your setup
- A burner inside a trailer or horsebox needs adequate ventilation, and gas interlocking where required. Do not assume the unit builder got it right
- Heat-up from cold is slower on gas than on electric. Build it into your service prep
We are CoffeeSafe accredited and carry out installation, servicing and PSSR inspections — see our servicing page.
Key features

Delivery, installation and training
Available delivery only, or with dual fuel installation and training for £395 ex VAT. That is higher than our standard traditional install because the gas side has to be commissioned by a suitably registered engineer — it is not the same job.
On a mobile unit we would strongly recommend taking it. The gas commissioning has to happen regardless, and it is worth having the water, filtration and dose setup done at the same time.
